This notice explains how SuburbShine Manchester collects, uses, and protects personal and vehicle-related information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We only process information needed to run our mobile car wash service efficiently and safely.

2 — What we collect

  • Contact information — name, telephone number, and email address used for booking and updates.
  • Service address and postcode — to reach the location of the vehicle.
  • Vehicle details — make, model, colour, and registration only when customers choose to share it for identification at multi-vehicle sites.
  • Payment records — basic transaction references from our secure payment processor; no card data is stored by us.
  • Message content — any notes you send through the contact form or text messages to arrange access or timing.

3 — How we use the information

The data is used only to organise and complete booked services, communicate scheduling, and maintain internal records such as route lists. We also keep limited contact information for repeat customers who request regular slots.

We do not sell, rent, or exchange your details with any other business. Occasionally we may share information with our insurer or legal advisor if it relates to an incident at a work site and is legally required.

4 — Lawful basis for processing

We process personal data under Article 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR — performance of a contract — to provide the car wash service you request. Certain records are kept under Article 6(1)(c) to comply with legal obligations such as accounting and insurance requirements.

5 — Data retention

Booking messages and email threads are retained for up to 12 months after the last service. Basic invoice records remain for six years in accordance with UK tax rules. After those periods, data is securely deleted or anonymised.

6 — Storage and security

Information is stored on password-protected devices and cloud services located in the UK or EEA. We use strong authentication, and devices are kept under our control at all times. Paper notes such as route cards are shredded weekly.

7 — Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, or restrict processing of your personal data. You also have the right to object to processing and to data portability where applicable. Requests can be sent by email to [email protected].

8 — Vehicle data photos

On rare occasions we may photograph a vehicle to record its condition before service or to document a scratch reported by the owner. These images are taken only with consent and deleted within 30 days unless needed for insurance review.

9 — Cookies and analytics

Our website uses small text files (cookies) for essential functions like form security and session persistence. Optional analytics cookies help us see how many visitors use each page, without tracking personal identities. Full details are available in our Cookies & Controls page.

10 — Transfers outside the UK or EEA

We do not transfer data to countries without adequate protection standards. Any cloud providers used store data within the UK or EEA regions under appropriate data-processing agreements.

This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect service changes or legal developments. The latest version will always be posted on our website with the revision date clearly shown.
